Nestling at the foot of the Pireneus Mountains, Corumbá,
in Goiás, is another town which guards the history of the
state's colonial past in its well preserved monuments and houses.
A good example of the architecture is the church of Nossa Senhora
da Penha, built initially as a chapel in 1751. Religious tradition
and folklore are to be found in the festivals of Nossa Senhora
da Penha, São Sebastião and Divino Espírito
Santo. Near Corumbá are also two beautiful waterfalls, Salto and Monjolinho.
