stay in quarantine, provided that some legal requirements have been complied with. Brazilian
Public Health authorities require the following documents:
For dogs and cats:
Vaccination and health certificates
issued by a veterinarian (at most within 7 days of the animal's
entry into Brazil) attesting that no infectious or contagious diseases
were known to be spreading in the place of origin of the animals

by Animal Health Canada (Phone: 905-883 1600).
For birds:

(Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada) attesting that the animal is free of psitacosis.
These documents need to be legalized by the Embassy. Once legalized,
however, they are valid only for 7 days from the date of their issuance.

LEGALIZATION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR MINORS TRAVELLING
For Brazilian minors who will travel in Brazil,
or leave its territory, not accompanied by both parents or by
the legal guardian, or who will travel in the company of a third
party, it is necessary for the parents (or legal guardian):
a) if they are Brazilian, to bring in person their passports to
the Embassy, and the passport of the minor, in order to sign the authorization at the Embassy.
b) to send to the Embassy an authorization, typed in Portuguese, signed by both parents or
by the legal guardian, and notarized by a notary public. This
case, for instance, applies to parents or legal guardians, even
Brazilian, who do not live in Toronto, or when one of the parents is not Brazilian.
In the case of a minor traveling within Brazil or leaving its territory accompanied
by only one parent, it is necessary to bring to the Embassy an authorization typed in Portuguese, signed by the other parent and notarized by a notary public.
If the parent who is not traveling is Brazilian, he/she must come in person to the Embassy
with the passports of both parents and the passport of the minor, in order to sign the authorization at the Embassy.
Proof of identity and paternity, or of legal responsibility,
must always be submitted. The authorization must be presented
whenever deemed necessary in travels within Brazil and to the airport authorities, before departure from Brazil.
In the case of authorization notarized by a local notary public, the notary public’s specimen
signature and a dry seal imprint must be presented for the files of the Embassy.
Consular fee: CDN$ 36.00 in cash or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.
