Method of payment
All consular fees must be payed in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

The return of processed documents in the Canadian territory will only be made through the prepaid services offered by Canada Post (Registered Mail, Express Post and Priority Courier). The interested party will be entirely responsible for choosing each the above mentioned services. The use of other express courier companies is thoroughly forbidden.

Temporary Work Visa:
This Visa is applied for in Brazil at the General Coordination
for Immigration of the Ministry of Labor (see address below)
by the prospective employer, who will inform the applicant
of the documents required according to the specific type of
contract. Once the contract
has been authorized, the Embassy will be notified and the visa
can then be issued through the presentation of the following
documents:
1. passport valid for at least six months which
will be retained by this Embassy during the process period;
2. two recent photographs;
3. two visa application forms;
4. police clearance;

The fee is CDN$ 180.00 in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil plus handling fee or processing fee when applicable (see Visa Eligibility above).
Technical Assistance:
As per Normative Resolution 61/04 of the
National Council for Immigration, persons rendering technical assistance
to companies in Brazil should apply for a Temporary V Visa in Brazil
at the General Coordination of Immigration of the Ministry of Labor (addresses and
telephone numbers indicated below).
Exceptionally, in cases of real emergency, where unforeseen circumstances intervene,
the Consular authority might grant that type of visa, valid for thirty days only and not
renewable for a period of three months as per the text of article #5 of the said legal text, which
reads (unofficial translation): "In cases of emergency, at the discretion of the
consular authority, the temporary visa foreseen in item V of article 13 of Law 6.815, of August
\19th 1980, may be granted once only in a period of three months to the same alien, valid
for thirty days, non renewable, eschewing the formalities herein set forth."
This type of visa also applies for voluntary social work. Persons working aboard cruise
ships should also apply for a Work Visa with the Ministry of Labor in Brazil.
The consular fee for this type of visa is CDN$ 180,00 in certified check or money order payable to the
Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.
A handling fee of CDN$ 18.00 applies to all applications processed by mail. This handling
fee DOES NOT cover postal charges. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope or a pre-paid courier slip.

"Art. 6º. In case the company wishes to hire a foreign citizen to provide services of technical assistance for less than 90 days, the authorization may be granted, on condition that the following documents are presented to the Ministry of Labour by the company in Brazil:
I – Request of authorization - authorization form provided by the Ministry fo Labour;
II – Information about the company and the employee;
III - Proof of professional experience - minimum of three years in the activity;
IV – Original receipt of payment of the required fee "taxa individual de imigração – DARF, cód. 6922";
V – Copy of the act which established the company.”
