Method of payment

All consular fees must be payed in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

The visa is valid for first entry within 90 days

The return of processed documents in the Canadian territory will only be made through the prepaid services offered by Canada Post (Registered Mail, Express Post and Priority Courier). The interested party will be entirely responsible for choosing each the above mentioned services. The use of other express courier companies is thoroughly forbidden.

Student Visa:

For full-time students (except post-graduate) duly enrolled at a Brazilian university, institute or technical school.

Requirements:

1. valid passport which will be retained by this Embassy during the process period;

2. two visa application forms filled out and signed by the applicant (official forms supplied by the Embassy);

3. two recent photographs, passport-size;

4. proof of enrollment or vacancy (official document issued by the school in Brazil);

5. proof of means of financial support or of scholarship from a sponsoring institution;

6. Police clearance letter (if applicant is over 16), issued by the Police Department in the area where applicant has resided for the last 12 months;

7. If the applicant is less than 18, notarized letter of consent from both parents, authorizing applicant to travel unaccompanied to and from Brazil.

Visa fee: CDN$ 72.00 per visa in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

Note: Visa applicants must make sure to receive one application form back with their passports. This form will be required by the Brazilian Federal Police within 30 days after arrival for register purposes.

A handling fee of CDN$ 18.00 applies to all applications processed by mail. This handling fee DOES NOT cover postal charges. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope or a pre-paid courier slip.
