Method of payment
All consular fees must be payed in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

The return of processed documents in the Canadian territory will only be made through the prepaid services offered by Canada Post (Registered Mail, Express Post and Priority Courier). The interested party will be entirely responsible for choosing each the above mentioned services. The use of other express courier companies is thoroughly forbidden.

Religious Missionaries Visa:
For religious missionaries, members of the clergy and of monastic orders, temporarily transferred to Brazil.

(A) Requirements from the religious order in Brazil:
1. Official records of constitution and respective statutes;
2. Duly constituted authority by the religious official representing the order;
3. Written statement of financial responsibility for the applicant and his/her family in Brazil.
All documents listed above must be duly notarized in Brazil and all photocopies likewise authenticated.
(B) Requirements from the applicant:
1. proof of ordination or equivalent and/or school transcript of theological education in an institution of higher learning;
2. copy of diplomas;
3. curriculum vitae indicating academic and missionary history;
4. marriage certificate and birth certificate of minor dependents, if applicable.
Note: Documents listed in items 1 through 4 must be duly legalized by the Embassy in the jurisdiction of which they were issued.
5. declaration stating that will work in Indian areas only after a permit issued by FUNAI (Fundação Nacional do Indio).
Note: a photocopy of item 5 must be authenticated by the Embassy.
6. a photocopy of each family member’s passport (must be valid for at least 6 months prior to its expiration date);
7. three visa application forms filled out and signed by each family member (official forms supplied by the Embassy);
8. three recent photos, passport-size for each applicant.
9. police record.
The applicant must submit to the Embassy the passport of each family member.
Visa fee: CDN$ 126.00 in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.
Legalization fees: school documents, CDN$ 9.00; other documents, CDN$ 36.00; authentication (of copy), each, CDN$ 9.00, when photocopied
at our office, CDN$ 27.00 when photocopied elsewhere.
A handling fee of CDN$ 18.00 applies to all applications processed by mail. This handling
fee DOES NOT cover postal charges. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope (sase) or a pre-paid courier slip.
