All consular fees must be payed in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

The return of processed documents in the Canadian territory will only be made through the prepaid services offered by Canada Post (Registered Mail, Express Post and Priority Courier). The interested party will be entirely responsible for choosing each the above mentioned services. The use of other express courier companies is thoroughly forbidden.

Business Visa:

For business trips, including media coverage or filming and for flight/ship crew members not holding an international crew card. For services under a consulting or technical assistance contract and for persons working aboard cruise ships, see WORK VISA.

If the filming expedition is intended for reasons other than journalism or news gathering, issuing the visa depends on prior authorization from the Ministry of Culture in Brazil. For such, the applicant must find a Brazilian co-producer who shall obtain that authorization.

Requirements:

1. passport, valid for at least 6 months prior to its expiration date which will be retained by this Embassy during the process period;

2. one visa application form per applicant;

3. one passport-size photo;

A letter on company letterhead, addressed to the Embassy, signed by an authorized representative (other than the applicant) stating the purpose of the trip to Brazil, itinerary, business contacts, dates of arrival in and departure from Brazil. The letter should also confirm that the company assumes all financial responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil.

Visa fee: CDN$ 108,00 in certified check or money order payable to the Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

A handling fee of CDN$ 18.00 applies to all applications processed by mail. This handling fee DOES NOT cover postal charges. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope or a pre-paid courier slip.

Some nationalities may require consultation with Brazil. In that case, please allow a minimum of one month for the visa to be processed. A consultation fee of CDN$ 45.00 is applicable.

Business visa requirements have been waived for citizens of Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Morocco, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, Vatican.
