Temporary Visas VII (Religious) Apply to:

Religious missionaries.
* Ministers of faith.
* Members of the clergy and of monastic orders, temporarily transferred to Brazil.
NOTE: Please note that you are fully responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in your application.
(A) Requirements from the religious institution in Brazil
1. Official records of constitution and respective statutes.
2. Duly constituted authority by the religious official representing the institution.
3. Written statement of financial responsibility for the applicant and his/her family in Brazil.
IMPORTANT: All documents listed above must be duly notarized in Brazil and all photocopies likewise authenticated.
(B) Requirements from the applicant
1. Valid passport (for at least 6 months prior to its expiration date) which will be retained by this Embassy during the process period. It must have at least two blank pages available.
2. Visa application form per applicant that MUST be filled in online (no need to print it).
3. Printed protocol document issued after filling out the online form. Please sign the protocol document in the appropriate space and glue a photograph (passport size). Please note that the protocol is valid for 1 month (after this period a new application must be made).
NOTE: The photograph can be taken as a courtesy at the Embassy of Brazil upon delivery of the protocol for processing. (temporarily unavailable)
4. Proof of ordination or equivalent and/or school transcript of theological education in an institution of higher learning.
5. Copy of diplomas.
6. Curriculum vitae indicating academic and missionary history.
7. Marriage certificate and birth certificate of minor dependents, if applicable.
IMPORTANT: Documents listed in items 4 through 7 must be duly legalized by the Embassy in the jurisdiction of which they were issued.
8. Declaration stating that will work in Indian areas only after a permit issued by FUNAI (Fundação Nacional do Indio).
Note: a photocopy of item 8 must be authenticated by the Embassy.
9. All applicants must present proof of earnings (letter of employer or statement of earnings). In case of self employed, student or unemployed, a statement of earnings or a copy of last year’s income tax from spouse or parents is acceptable. For retired, any proof of income can be presented (e.g. pension, rental,…), or a copy of last year’s income tax.
10. Police report showing that the candidate has no criminal records.

- All consular fees must be paid by certified cheque or money order payable to Embassy of Brazil in Ottawa.

Processing period
IMPORTANT: Visa holders must arrive in Brazil within 90 days from the date of issue of their visas.
