Travel of Minor

Brazilian law requires that all Brazilian children under the age of 18, including those with double nationality, have written authorization from both parents in order to travel from and within Brazil. If the child is traveling accompanied by one parent, an authorization from the other parent is still required. Most airlines will require this authorization even prior to traveling to Brazil.

This authorization may be obtained by presenting the signed Authorization for the Travel of Minor at any Brazilian Consular Office for legalization. Please note that non-Brazilian citizens must have their signature previously notarized by a Notary Public before the document is brought for Consular legalization.
